Since the age of twelve, I have been experimenting with all the plant based delicacies nature has to offer. I felt at home in the kitchen and cooking seemed to come natural to me. I am fortunate to have been raised on high quality and very tasty home cooked food. My mother made the most delicious old-Dutch dishes and desserts and my father still bakes the most wonderful cakes and breads with Christmas.

When I embraced the vegan lifestyle, it became my mission to develop recipes that could match the good old flavours that I was brought up with. Over the years I developed my own unique set of skills to create good vegan food that everyone loved.

That is why, after completing my degree in Art History, I decided not to look for a job in the art world, but to write a business plan for a vegan lunchroom instead. The lunchroom became Koffie ende Koeck and opened its doors on March 21, 2014 in Amsterdam.

The warm welcome I experienced when I was a young girl coming home from school and finding my parents waiting for me with tea and sweets is something that I hope guests will feel when visiting Koffie ende Koeck. Everything in the cafe is baked and made fresh every day on those few square meters. It is my mission to provide guests with a high quality vegan food experience while feeling comfortable and at ease.
